Headless Horseman Haunt

It's been a few days since I got back, so my thoughts regarding the Headless Horseman aren't as fresh as I might like. Sorry, my Haunties. But, let's delve into it anyway. . .

I went to the Headless Horseman several years back during an off season tour with the Halloween Convergence folks. Even though it was the middle of the day, there were no actors and no props, the hayride was still really enjoyable. They pointed out several things along the way and you could picture what it must be like when the haunt was up and running. Let me tell you, I was wrong. It was much better than I pictured it.

We got there at about 6:45 and did not leave until 9:15. In haunt time, that's huge! First up was the hayride which was a very dark take on fairy tales. Much more so than the Brother's Grimm. Then, a never ending corn maze littered with all kinds of frights. After that not one, but TWO haunted houses. Then, some hot cider, a side show act and shopping! Yep, ladies, SHOPPING!! (You know we'd go to demolition derbies if there was a boutique there.)

I had a great time and suggest that, if you're anywhere near Ulster Park, NY you should check it out.
