Pirate Exhibit? Are you kidding me?!

So, I'm chitchatting with my buddy over at the Field Museum about the attempted break in at my place (don't worry, all my Halloween stuff is still safe and sound) and say something like "what were they thinking? it's not like it's filled with Pirate's Booty". To which she responds "like the one at the museum right now".

What? Seriously? Why is this the first I'm hearing about it?

She apologized about not telling me straight away (sheesh!) and then sent me this link. . .

That''ll tell you a little about the exhibit. And, below it he link to the musuem. . .

Much like the Harry Potter exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry, this would be a fun side trip for those of you going to HauntCon this year. I'll be going probably in June on my first summer Friday.

Showcasing the Skull Hoodies

Pam and I were just kibbitzing on Facebook about all of our skull hoodies. We have many. And, I feel bad that everyone else doesn't get to see them since you are all so far away. So, I'm trying to think of a good way of showcasing them here on the blog. And, not only mine. I'd like to have a virtual fashion show of skull hoodies that everyone can particpate in.

Now, the question becomes, how the blazes do I make this happen? Anyone? Anyone?

If you have any ideas, let me know.

And so it begins. . .

Patti and I are running about a month behind on party planning. But, fear not. We begin in earnest this weekend.

We are really looking forward to this year's party as it marks the 10th anniversary of our first movie. We have all kinds of ideas to promote the big event. OK, more like two. But really one.

And, we plan on getting tons of ideas from all the events we're hitting this year as well as stealing some from our fellow haunters. Wait! Did I accidentally say "steal". Not very stealthy of me.

This year on the travel itinerary:

March
TransWorld in St. Louis (Definately Patti & Eric, hopefully me too)

April/May
HauntCon in Milwaukee

June
Midwest Haunters Convention in Columbus (Definately me, hopefully Patti & Eric to)

August
East Coast Haunters Gathering in Nashua

Now, on top of that, I'm going to South Carolina in a few weeks. I'll be checking out a graveyard or two while I'm there and will post plenty of pictures.

So expect my blogging to really pick up. (I know I say that all the time, but I mean it this time, sorta.)

Hope everyone had a fabulous Friday the 13th. And, if not, you have another chance next month. Don't let it slip away.

Happy Friday the 13th

I hope everyone has a great day, whether you are hanging with Jason or spell casting over a white candle. I will be benefiting from the ritualistic slaughter of a cow (having a steak) and partaking of a magical brew (either beer or wine, not sure yet).

And, remember, if you don't get it right tonight, you have another chance next month!

The Stanley Ghost - Vintage Photos

Several years ago, HauntCon was held in Denver. Pam, Patti, Chris and I decided to extend our trip to include a night in Estes Park at the infamous Stanley Hotel. For those of you who don't know, the Stanley is the inspiration for Stephen King's "The Shining". When you spend a little time there, you can see why. On top of being very secluded, it was also built in 1912, so it's old and creaky. That said, it's also beautiful and the service was definately top notch.

If you ever go and are looking for a little ghostly activity, make sure to book your room on the 3rd floor.

So, without further ado, here are the ghostly pictures. .

What? This didn't make you believe in ghosts? Then I really don't know what will!

Chris gets frightened by a ghost. . .

When were ghost hunting at the Omni Parker House, Chris disappeared on us for a bit. We rounded a corner on the 10th floor and found him tucked away in an alcove. He looked petrified.

(I had to lighten these up a little because I wasn't using a flash. Laura told me you can't trust pictures when flashes are used in ghost hunting. It causes orbs of the not paranormal variety.)

We coaxed him out of the alcove and back to the elevator banks with us. There he just broke down and couldn't get the words out.

Ghost Hunting at Omni Parker House

I've been a little slow getting the pictures from the trip with my fun Boston Haunties together and posted. My bad. Until I do that, enjoy this little gem. . . .

The Gathering Date Has Been Set

The East Coast Haunt Club has set the date for The New England Haunter's Gathering and it will be (drum roll please) . . .

Saturday, August 1, 2009

For the last several years, it's been held in Salem. This year, the Club is switching it up a bit and having it at:

Fright Kingdom
12 Simon Street
Nashua, NH 03060

Here's a link to their site:

http://www.frightkingdom.com/indexmain.html.

Many of you die-hard Club members will remember that the Gathering's started out being held at a haunt. Having it at Fright Kingdom will be sorta like taking us back to our roots. It's going to be fantastic.

Mark your calendars and stay tuned. I'll have more info for you as it unfolds.

Keep your eyes on the internet. . .

Rumor on the street is there will be a Haunt Club announcement soon. I'm on pins and needles over here!
